Before maintenance:
Before maintenance the compression ball valve, release the pipeline pressure and keep the valve open. Because when the compression ball valve is in close position, there is still pressurize fluid inside the valve body.
Cut off the electricity and gas.
Saperate the operation parts and the bracket.
Make sure that the pressure of the pipelines that connecting with the compression ball valve has been release.
When disassembling and re-assembling, you must be careful to prevent damage to the sealing surface of the parts. Espacially, it will be better for you to use tool when removing the O-rings.
Cleaning:
The cleaning agent should be compatible with the rubber parts, plastic parts, metal parts and working medium (such as gas) in the ball valve. When the working medium is gas, gasoline can be use to clean the metal parts. Clean non-metal parts with pure water or alcohol.
The disassemble individual parts can be clean by dipping. Metal parts with non-metal parts that have not been decompose, can be scrub with a clean, fine cloth that impregnate with cleaning agent (to prevent fibers from falling off and adhering to the parts). When cleaning, all grease, dirt, glue, dust, etc. adhering to the surface must be remove.
Non-metal parts should be taken out of the cleaning agent immediately after cleaning, and should not be soak for a long time
After cleaning, it needs to be assemble after the cleaning agent of the wash surface is volatiliz (can be wipe with a silk cloth not soak in cleaning agent), but it should not be left for a long time, otherwise it will rust and be contaminate by dust.
New parts should also be clean before assembling.
Assembling:
Use grease for lubrication. Grease should be compatible with ball valve metal materials, rubber parts, plastic parts and working medium. When the working medium is gas, for example, special 221 grease can be use. Apply a thin layer of grease on the surface of the seal installation groove, apply a thin layer of grease on the rubber seal, apply a thin layer of grease on the sealing surface and friction surface of the valve stem
When assembling, it should not be allow to pollute, adhere or stay on the surface of the parts or enter the cavity with metal chips, fibers, grease (except those specified for use), dust and other impurities, foreign matter, etc.
