Tri Clamp condensers function as heat exchangers. Coolant enters via an FNPT port circulating & cooling the metal tubing through which your vapor or solvent passes vertically. The gas condenses into a liquid and runs back down under the influence of gravity where it is reclaimed and placed back into a collection tank.
In the distilling industry these condensers are generally called dephlegmator or reflux condensers.
