Stainless steel tri clamp ferrules serve as standardized, detachable connection ports for liquid cooling data center. They offer an optimal balance of sealing integrity, ease of maintenance, and fluid-flow performance, and are commonly used in centralized Coolant Distribution Units (CDU) as well as the primary supply and return piping for server racks.
Features:
Rapid Assembly and Disassembly
Utilizing a clamp and sealing ring, this solution enables quick connection between liquid cooling pipes, cold plates, and manifolds. It eliminates the need for welding or applying PTFE (Teflon) tape to threaded joints, allowing for rapid assembly and disassembly during maintenance, cold plate replacement, or system expansion—significantly reducing downtime.
Reliable Sealing to Prevent Coolant Leakage
The clamp compresses the flange surfaces against a fluororubber or EPDM gasket, creating a uniform seal. This design withstands pressure fluctuations and thermal cycling within the liquid cooling circuit, preventing coolant leaks that could cause short circuits or hardware damage. It serves as a critical component for leak prevention in liquid cooling systems.
Corrosion Resistance and Compatibility with Various Coolants
Constructed from 304/316L stainless steel, this solution is compatible with deionized water, ethylene glycol, and other common coolants. It resists electrochemical corrosion and minimizes the release of impurities that could contaminate the cooling circuit, thereby extending the lifespan of the entire system—an ideal choice for the continuous, long-term operation required in data centers.
Facilitates Cleaning, Draining, and Inspection
The quick-release design simplifies routine pipe flushing and the removal of air bubbles from the circuit. It also allows for convenient in-line sampling to monitor coolant conductivity and impurity levels. This is particularly well-suited for modular liquid-cooled cabinets, offering flexibility for future adjustments to piping layouts.
